Virtual Learning Contract school year 2020 - 2021

Families -  As we plan for the start of school and you are deciding if your child will return to in-person classes or use the virtual school option, please be aware that there is a Virtual School Contract that will need to be signed and returned to the school by Friday, July 17.

Many people are asking for more information before they decide, however all we can tell you at this time is that Virtual School could look differently for each student, teacher, class, or grade level.  But it will be online and students will need to log on at different times.

A copy of the contract is available by clicking on the title of this article, in the navigation line or you may contact the school to request a copy.

Updated Contract:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rJRuLKqG1HbtMwqfKV4pHMXCqzE3Bl6sgMNorcLT5p0/copy

All parents who have chosen for their student to virtual learn will have to complete this contract.

Online Registration

At Pulaski County Schools we believe engaging guardians, students, and staff forms the foundation for success in our school community.  In order to engage the school community we must maintain current contact information for students and their guardians.  The online registration system will help us do that.

Reopening of Pulaski County Schools

School is expected to open August 5, 2020.   During this time of a pandemic, we must make some hard decisions.  Some will not be popular and I understand, but we must try to make the best decisions for students given the expectations from state agencies.  Our plan follows the expectations of the Kentucky Department of Education and the Kentucky Department of Health.  The plan is based around three common principles: social distancing of at least six feet, wearing a mask when you cannot socially distance, and contact tracing if COVID-19 is present.  Parents will be able to choose a virtual option or attend school on a 5-day normal schedule.  Both options will have conditions that parents must consider when making their decision.  Click on the article title for additional information.

P-EBT

All Pulaski County students qualify a $313.50 benefit:

School closures due to the COVID-19 state of emergency led to the loss of free and reduced-price school meals for many Kentucky children. These children now can receive help from a program jointly offered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Kentucky Department of Education.

Households with children not enrolled in these assistance programs must apply for P-EBT benefits at https://benefind.ky.gov/. Applications will be taken from June 1, 2020 through the end of August.
